Clewiston, FL — August 20, 2008 — Tropical Storm Fay impacted our sugarcane operations during the past 36 hours. We received 8-12 inches of rain and hurricane force winds of 80-85 mph were noted on our Western properties. Right now, we have standing water and most cane stalks were blown over and tangled. It will take a week or so to complete our field by field assessments to get a complete sense of the storms impact. The Clewiston Refinery, which had shut down as the storm approached, started back up at 9:30 yesterday and is on pace to break several production records. There was no damage to our milling and refining complex. ###
