About 100 players took part in the 3rd annual J. Nelson Fairbanks/U.S. Sugar Golf Tournament held Saturday, April 30, in Clewiston. The event honors retired U.S. Sugar CEO J. Nelson Fairbanks, an avid golfer and supporter of the Clewiston Golf Course.
Over the past three years, the tournament has raised more than $100,000 for city of Clewiston’s recreational programs.
In recognition of Fairbanks’ lifetime love for golf and support of Clewiston’s golf course, the city unveiled a plaque during the tournament naming “The Fairbanks Back Nine” for the retired U.S. Sugar CEO.
U.S. Sugar President and CEO Bob Buker presided over the event and is pictured here with J. Nelson Fairbanks, center, and his wife, Anita.
